Project Manager/Estimator

Job Description:

  • Prepare bids for future potential shop work in accordance with commercial and government requirements. This may include a simple estimate for a single motor repair or be as complex as a multiyear, blanket contract covering a significant amount of different repair/service activities
  • Serve as the customer liaison on incoming jobs. Communicate with customers regarding project schedule, status, special requirements or problem resolution.
  • Perform project management functions including the coordination of efforts with Production, Engineering, QC Personnel, and Vendors.
    • This includes:
        • Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
        • Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion.
        • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans.
        • Draft and submit budget proposals for recommended repairs.
  • Ensure customer specifications are understood and incorporated appropriately within work instruction documents before work is started.
  • Provide production management and floor supervisors with timely, detailed and accurate production plans to ensure customer specifications are met and schedules are maintained.
  • Assist in the development and approval of quality and technical procedures, as requested.
  • Prepare required reports such as incoming and final repair reports.
  • Prepare material requisitions and work with the Purchasing Department to ensure materials are ordered and inspected in accordance with specified requirements.


 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience with government contracts and estimating strongly preferred.
  • Previous estimating and/or project management experience preferred.
  • Previous experience with electro-mechanical equipment; specifically, motors (115v-13kv & DC), pumps, gearheads, brake assemblies, vent sets, collector ring assemblies, etc.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to interact with all types of personalities at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Be computer proficient in all Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Be a team player and self-motivator.
  • Present a professional appearance and attitude at all times.
  • Must be punctual and willing to work outside regular scheduled hours as needed.
